Community Care Funding

Legal Aid

Legal Aid (Public Funding) is available for legal help (advice and assistance) in relation to most areas of Community Care Law. Legal aid is also available to enable you to be represented in court, subject to a means and merits test.

If you receive Income Support, Income Based Job Seekers Allowance, Income Base Employment & Support Allowance, or Guaranteed Pension Credit you will normally be eligible for Legal Aid if you need Legal Advice. If you are not receiving any of these benefits but you have a low income or you have no income or you have no immigration status in the United Kingdom you may be eligible.

When you first contact us we will discuss with you whether legal aid is likely to cover your case. We will normally need you to bring proof of your means to your first appointment.

Private Funding

If Legal Aid is not available we can offer privately funded work at an hourly rate. You have the choice if appropriate of limiting the amount of work we undertake for you or limiting to which stage of the case you wish to reach.
