Legal Aid (Public Funding) is available for representation at Tribunals and is not means tested. Legal Aid is available for advice and legal help in relation to most other types of Mental Health Law subject to a means Test.
Legal Aid is also available where representation is required at court e.g. where an application has been made to the Court of Protection or to the County Court for a Nearest Relative Displacement. This type of public funding is subject to a means and merits Test.
If you are not entitled to Legal Aid we can represent you on a private basis and you have the choice, if appropriate, of limiting the amount of work we undertake for you or limiting which stage of the case you wish to reach.
