We are one of the few Legal Firms who specialise in representing those who have suffered ill treatment or abuse of power at the hands of the Police and other Detaining Authorities including Prison and Immigration Services. We have developed our expertise to ensure that the Police and other Public Officials are held to account when they abuse their powers or mistreat our clients. Being abused and mistreated in this way can, we know, cause very serious problems for our clients.
We will do everything possible to achieve accountability including disciplinary proceedings against the Police and others, proper investigation into abuse and misconduct and compensation. We will challenge, by way of bringing Public Law action, where possible, Police failings or inappropriate actions.
As well as specialising in this area we are one of the handful of Firms Quality Approved by the Legal Services Commission to do this work.
The types of cases we undertake and specialise in include wrongful arrest, false imprisonment, assault, malicious prosecution, harassment and discrimination, breaches of human rights and data protection. We also have significant experience of acting in inquests for families of those who have died in Police custody or Prison.
