At Hereward & Foster we realise that it isn’t always easy for prospective clients to come and see us at our office and that to provide advice and assistance in a variety of ways will help prospective clients access our specialist legal services.
Bromley by Bow Centre is a pioneering voluntary organisation led by the local community to regenerate the area. It runs a huge range of projects and works with 2000 people each week. It provides services and support to the whole community – families, young people, vulnerable adults and elders.
Hereward & Foster runs a free legal advice session at the Centre every Thursday from 10am to 1pm offering the full range of its specialist services across the 12 areas of Law. The service is completely free and advice and assistance can be provided at the session itself and if appropriate following the session clients can be referred to a Solicitor who is best able to help them. This includes emergencies such as housing crisis or Injunctions.
Appointments can be booked through Reception at the Bromley by Bow Centre and interpreters are available if required. Appointments take place within a consultation room at the Bromley by Bow Health Centre providing a confidential meeting place.
The Outreach legal advice session is unique in providing advice and assistance in so many areas of Law. The presence of the session also means that GPs at the Health Centre can refer patients who they have identified need the advice and assistance of specialist Lawyers.
This is the main voluntary organisation in the London Borough of Havering that is working on behalf of local people who have a wide range of physical and sensory disabilities and the people who are looking after them at home. They act as an umbrella organisation to which currently 73 local groups comprising of people with various disabilities and carers are affiliated. They provide information and support to individuals and groups on all aspects of disability and caring.
Hereward & Foster runs a free legal advice session at the Association providing specialist legal advice and assistance on issues to do with Community Care Law where people believe statutory organisations have not carried out their legal duties to provide services. The service also includes in depth legal advice on Welfare Benefits, legal advice on support being received and the assistance that can be given to people who wish to make a complaint about their Community Care.
The service also extends to legal advice and assistance in relation to Welfare Benefit entitlement and providing advice and assistance for people who have problems with Debts.
Our free legal advice and assistance session is every Tuesday from 1pm until 4pm.
The Firm received a Disability Awareness Award in the Public Office category presented at the House of Commons by Angela Watkinson MP to award good practice and promote organisations and individuals that recognise the ability in disability.

The Disability Resource Centre is for people with physical and/or sensory disabilities who live in the Borough of Waltham Forest and surrounding Boroughs. The centre is run for and by people with disabilities. It provides daily activities which promote learning, independent and healthy living. It also offers work experience and a Trainee Scheme which is aimed at providing vocational training and support for people with disabilities.
